After yesterday's YES Program, MASH Travelers continued to identify details that contribute to the magic of Disney attractions.
Danaihja pointed out that the ground changes by land. Liberty Square has a strip of brown down the middle for symbolic purposes. Ask a traveler what it means? Fantasyland incorporates horseshoesthroughout the land. Speaking of knowledge from yesterday...Gabriel pointed out the same technology used to propel them on Rock n Rollercoaster is used on the People Mover (although at very different speeds). Any idea what that technology could be? Ask Gabriel or another MASH Traveler! Most attractions include sound to help narrate the story. Christian pointed out that most rides have the speakers built into the cars you ride in. But on the People Mover, the speakers are on the ceiling. He wanted to know how do Imagineers time the information as guests are always moving on the attraction, yet they still hear the narrator?! Travelers also noticed the change in garbage pail colors to match each area's theme as they explored Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adeventureland, Liberty Square and Main Steet USA! Hidden Mickeys are throughout all the parks and travelers found a few! Welcome to the Magic Kingdom! We're touring Main Street and admiring the forced perspective used to design Cinderella Castle!
Unique. Creative. Magical. Newton's Laws of Motion. MASH Travelers explored how each of these combine to influence the designs of Imaginears in 140 different departments.
The exploration continued as MASH Travelers spent the rest of the day at Hollywood Studios. They learned how each part of the park is designed to invoke different feelings--down to purposely overgrown vegetation and fake cracks in walls for Hollywood Tower of Terror to the overgrown furniture of Andy's Room for Toy Story Mania. Even the trash cans have different designs through each section of the parks! MASH Travelers experience the history behind these parks as they toured the One Man's Dream exhibit. They learned how changes in technology helped advance TV shows and movies and saw the mechanics of the infamous animatronics technology before seeing the technology applied throughout The Great Movie Ride. Even Rockin' Roller Coaster displays the evolution technology, showing changes in recording equipment and microphones! The case reminded travelers of the display near Mr. Slusksy's room. We're in our first park, Hollywood Studios! We'll kick the trip off with Disney's YES Program, where MASH Travelers will serve as Honorary Imagineers and explore elements of gravity!
It's time to start packing! One week from today, Disney/ EPCOT Travelers will be sporting their MASH Meets Mickey 2017 T-shirts and headed to Florida! Dining Reservations were made in November!
Fast Passes were booked in March! We're 1 month away from our next MASH Meets Mickey trip! Continuing with our conversations around the environment and conservation efforts that we started yesterday at Animal Kingdom, one Disney traveler pointed out this sign.
The busses we have utilized all week are one of only a few fleets to use a renewable diesel! The MASH travelers are heading home today, but continue to check back over the next few weeks for more student reflections and learning from our 2016 MASH meets Mickey trip!! We're spending our final day revisiting the Magic Kingdom! Then it's back to the airport and a flight back to CT!
